Experienceing the ’Steam Age’ at Nairobi Railway Museum

The Nairobi Railway Museum narrates the tale of Kenya’s evolvement. Opened in 1971, the Museum is owned by Kenya Railways and is the only Railway Museum in East and Central Africa.
Did you know the Railway Museum displays the largest ever produced steam locomotives in the World?
During the second world war, Kenya’s colony needed to decongest the port, therefore they developed a powerful locomotive that operated on a meter gauge railway and was assembled in Kenya.

A short film, have a historic talk about the Museum and guided tour of the steam engines and coaches displayed outside.
Kids will get a chance to ride on a mini train.
