SUMMARY:Kenya's Swahili Coast - The Untold Stories : Talk by Judy Aldrick
DESCRIPTION:Judy Aldrick\, writer and historian lived for over 20 years in Mombasa but is now living in Kent UK. She has written several books and many articles and has been researching Coastal history for over 40 years. She worked closely with Cynthia Salvadori in her work to revive the history of Asians in Kenya and spent many years in the Old Town of Mombasa making an inventory of the buildings and listing the Carved Doors of the region. More recently she has developed a website www.historyofeastafrica.com which gives access to her books and articles and newsletters. \nJoin us as she talks about the background story to her latest book “Kenya’s Swahili Coast’. What made her write it\, how it unfolded and a brief overview of the content and what she hoped to achieve by writing it.
