Kenya’s First National Art Gallery and What It Means for the Arts

Join us to learn about the vision of this long-overdue public arts institute, a place for collecting, preserving and exhibiting Kenya’s arts legacy from collection of pre-historic, to traditional, modern and contemporary works.

“There is an urgent need in Kenya for a public space where the important role of art in documenting the social, historical and cultural evolution of the country can be appreciated.” Mzalendo N. Kibunjia, Director-General, National Museums of Kenya.

Presented by:
Tony Wainaina, Board Member – National Museums of Kenya (NMK), Chairperson – NMK’s National Art Gallery of Kenya board committee.
