Elephants and the main ivory markets in Asia

Lucy Vigne, Ivory Trade Reseacher

Saturday, 6 March 2021, Tamambo Karen Blixen Coffee Garden (time & cost to be confirmed)

Lucy was on the editorial board of Kenya Past and Present (the annual publication of the Kenya Museum Society) for many years with her long-term colleague, Esmond Martin, and in his memory, three years after his tragic murder, wishes to remember him and talk about their work on the ivory trade, focusing on some of the unregulated ivory markets that she has surveyed in Africa and Asia in recent years, and especially looking at the current Chinese demand for ivory.
