39th Know Kenya Course (Know Kenya More) 2011
31st October - 5th November 2011 at the National Museum of Kenya (Louis Leakey Hall)

Since 1971 the Know Kenya More (formerly: Know Kenya Course) has been organised by the Kenya Museum Society as the main fundraising event to support projects of the National Museums of Kenya, providing valuable income for museums and pre-historic sites around the country. All proceeds will go to support the National Museums of Kenya.
Its annual 39th Know Kenya More! (previously Know Kenya Course) will be held from 31st October until 5th November 2011 at the National Museum of Kenya (Louis Leakey Hall).
Support KMS by attending the full course or individual lectures. KMS members receive a discounted rate of Ksh 6,000 for the full course and Ksh 500 for each lecture.
You can also support us by purchasing raffle tickets at Ksh 500 only. Prizes include; Swiss International Airline ticket to Europe,
Fly540 tickets to Masai Mara; One of four weekends away for two at a Kenyan Game Lodge.

Pamela Cunneyworth was born and raised in Canada. During her third year of primary school her teacher, who had recently emigrated from Kenya made such a strong impression on the 7 year old, it changed her life. This lead to her studying archeology and biology at university and then going on to specialise in primates.
Over the years she has worked on numerous conservation projects in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya as well as at the Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi. She now works tirelessly for the Colobus Trust.
Ketebul Music (derived from Luo word meaning Drumsticks) was established in 2007 by members of the Kenyan music industry with the aim of discovering and promoting local talented musicians and performers of African traditional and contemporary music. Based at the Go Down Arts Centre they run 2 audio recording suites and a video editing production suite they have ventured into research based documentary production.
Director General of ICIPE, the Institute Prof Borgemeister obtained his PHD at Hanover University. He then embarked on a research career in Africa. Having worked at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Benin, he returned to work at Hanover University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and has authored and co authored numerous articles and papers for various scientific journals as well as a book on biological control in Africa.
Evelyn Mungai is the founder of the first School of Design in East Africa. She has trained thousands of young people across Africa, who have in turn started their own businesses. Invited to join the ,All Africa Business Round-Table’ as its first woman member, Evelyn is considered an entrepreneur extraordinaire and role model throughout the continent.
Rhodia Mann is the author of three books, which include, Talk to the Stars: The Samburu of Northern Kenya. Her incites into the lives and beliefs of the Samburu will be the focus of her talk at this year's Know Kenya More! Her latest book, Ice Cream in Sololo, is a memoir in which the Kenyan born adventuress talks of her search for beads and the stories associated with them, another of her life's passions.
Born & educated in the U.S.A, Cynthia Moss moved to Africa in 1968. She has spent 43 years studying elephants and working for their conservation. Some of her many activities currently include directing & supervising research, training researchers and outreach to the Maasai community in Amboseli to name but a few. In march 2011 The Amboseli Elephants: a long term perspective on a long lived animal was published in conjunction with her colleagues on the Amboseli Project.
