Welcome to the Kenya Museum Society!

The 'new' Nairobi National Museum

On October 15th 2005, the previous Nairobi Museum closed its doors to the public for a highly intensive rebuilding programme that is set to be complete by beginning of 2008. The change is financed by the European Union (EU) within the framework of National Museums of Kenya Support Programme (NMKSP). This is an ambitious expansion and improvement programme that has given Nairobi Museum a major facelift and transformed it into a destination of choice for both local and international visitors.
