Situated on the Kapiti Plains opposite the rugged Lukenya Hill, Swara Plains Acacia Camp (home to the Hopcraft family since Independence) is nestled in a glade of shady Yellow Fever Trees. It is a privately fenced 20,000 acre wildlife sanctuary with a good population of game animals, over 280 identified bird species and provides immense views with big skies.
Swara Plains is also home to the award-winning children’s bestseller HOW IT WAS WITH DOOMS turned movie, ‘Duma’. A Warner Bros feature film based on the Hopcraft’s true story of adopting an orphaned Cheetah cub, Dooms.
